we are back on monday evening/night. i haven't these particular beetles since i was very small but i think i'm ok with touching them. i read somewhere that if you go early in the morning, you can actually shake them off the plants into a bucket of water and soap. hmmmm.... can the garden hang tight until tuesday or do we need to be making decisions now about what to do?
we can wait until monday when you get back. melissa and i haven't done any more weeding because of the beetles, so it definitely looks like weed city by the herbs and the tomato plants over by the herbs. when i was watering yesterday i tried to knock some beetles off the plants with the force of water from the hose, and they clung on for dear life. hopefully we can get them off! if for some reason things look much worse tonight, i'll call or email you.
